Ira Gordon, DVM, DACVR-RO
Dr. Ira Gordon, DVM, DACVR-RO is a board-certified veterinary radiation oncologist with over 20 years of experience in cancer research, specialty practice, and veterinary leadership. He is the founder of The Oncology Service and has held executive roles with Ethos Veterinary Health, Vetcelerator, and VetPrep. He also serves on the executive committee of the Veterinary Angel Network (VANE) and advises several animal health companies.
Dr. Gordon earned his veterinary degree from the University of California, Davis, followed by a small animal internship at The Ohio State University and a residency in radiation oncology at UC Davis. He later served as a clinical instructor and completed postdoctoral research at the National Cancer Institute before establishing veterinary oncology practices in the Washington, DC area.
He currently serves as President-Elect of the Veterinary Cancer Society and has held leadership roles with ACVR, the Veterinary Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (VRT-OG), and non-profits like FETCH-a-Cure and We Rock Cancer. He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and co-hosted two podcast series focused on equity and entrepreneurship in veterinary medicine.
