Position Overview
- As a Department Coordinator, you will be part of a team that handles incoming phone calls to the hospital. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison for your assigned specialty department(s), overseeing administrative tasks such as schedule management, record requests, and document scanning/uploading.

- Maintaining electronic medical records
- Pharmacy and retail sales

Qualifications (Required)

Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Emergency Veterinarian to join our team at Veterinary Referral Associates (VRA). The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.
VRA is an AAHA-accredited 24 hour specialty and emergency hospital located in Gaithersburg, MD (just 30 minutes from Washington D.C.). Our hospital is over 30,000 square feet and specialty services offered include medical and radiation oncology, internal medicine, surgery, emergency and critical care, ophthalmology, anesthesiology, neurology, cardiology, radiology, acupuncture, physical rehabilitation, radioactive iodine treatment, and we just added an in-house pathology department. Our specialists and emergency veterinarians collaborate daily to provide the gold standard in patient care. Advanced diagnostic testing is available on-site, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, and an in house laboratory.
This role comes with the opportunity for an established caseload with earning potential exceeding $200,000 and a schedule of just 3 shifts per week.

Veterinary Referral Associates is looking for an Inventory and Purchasing Assistant in our busy 24-hour veterinary emergency and specialty hospital in Gaithersburg, MD.
Why This Role Matters: This is a vital behind-the-scenes role that directly impacts patient outcomes and operational efficiency by enabling everyone else to do their jobs effectively. You'll be the supply chain backbone ensuring our veterinarians and technicians never face a "we're out of stock" crisis during critical procedures. Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing procurement, inventory control, and distribution of hospital supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment to ensure optimal stock levels and uninterrupted patient care operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Pharmacy & Inventory Management
• Manage hospital pharmacy operations including prescription fulfillment, medication ordering, inventory reconciliation, and controlled substance documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Order, receive, and distribute pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, lab consumables, and specialty diets across all hospital departments
• Maintain accurate inventory records, perform cycle counts, and monitor expiration dates to minimize waste
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of all products following safety protocols
Purchasing & Vendor Coordination

• Source competitive pricing and research alternatives for back-ordered items

Qualifications:

- Monitor cases in the hospital and attend daily rounds when possible to be sure the highest standards are being upheld
- Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels

Qualifications (Required)
- Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university
- 1-year rotational internship in small animal medicine, surgery, ER (university or large referral practice).
- Completed a 3-year, AVMA approved residency program
- Current State Veterinary License
- DEA registration must be obtained and maintained
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.
- Excellent Communication Skills and the ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner with all members of the Medical and Hospital staff.
- Client communication skills, must be able to elicit information, establish rapport, offer explanations with pet owners.
- Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain.
- May include some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Some tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work.
- Position does require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Board-Certified or Residency Trained Veterinary Dentist to join our dynamic and compassionate team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with our clients. You will work alongside a team of experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will work closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.
Veterinary Referral Associates (VRA), is an AAHA-accredited, 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital. Located in Gaithersburg, MD, VRA is just a short drive from Washington, D.C., offering access to both a vibrant urban lifestyle and a high-quality professional environment. Our 30,000+ square foot facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and offers a wide range of specialty services. VRA offers a collaborative environment where specialists and emergency veterinarians work together to provide the gold standard in patient care. Advanced diagnostic testing, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, endoscopy, digital radiography, and fluoroscopy, is available on-site, ensuring our patients receive the best possible care.
As our Dentist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients. You will be working alongside a diverse team of specialists, including two Anesthesiologists and anesthesia support staff to ensure optimal outcomes. You will handle both routine dental procedures as well as more complex surgeries, diagnosing and treating conditions like periodontal disease, dental trauma, and oral cancers. When joining our team, you would have the ability to choose which equipment you want to work with, while enjoying our modern, dedicated dental suite.
